Sonia Mbele Refuses To Defend Her Son Donell Mbele After Abuse Claims Surface

Donell Mbele’s girlfriend Reokeditswe, known as @k.ediii on Instagram claims that she found out that he was cheating on her and when she confronted him, he physically abused her.

She recently posted a series of photos on her Instagram showing injuries sustained when she was attacked by Donelle with the caption “Donelle is deleting my posts he’s logged into my account and is deleting all my posts that are exposing him. She also uploaded this picture of her hand with the caption “He ripped my nail off today while he was hitting and dragging me around the house. This man had threatened to kill me”.

A screenshot of a conversation between the two was also leaked where Donelle said he can’t allow himself for one with her after what he did. He also admits to almost killing & raping her, saying love should not be so toxic, especially to the point where he almost kills her.

Kedi also posted a statement on her Instagram story that reads “This man abused me on 4 different occasions, each time worse than the last. And on the most recent time I wanted to press charges but I was conflicted by so many things. Firstly my love for him, I put him before myself and all I thought about was his future and how selfish I’d be to ruin him. Secondly his mom is a public figure so I did no

t want to drag her name into it.”

Well known actress Sonia Mbele, mother to Donell Mbele has responded to the abuse allegations and released the following statement on her social media…..

“Sanbonani,

I woke up this morning to a different world. A world I thought I had long buried. From the age of 17 to 26 I was with a man who was abusive, physically, psychologically and emotionally.

I’m mentioning this so you understand that as a woman who has suffered ALL kinds of abuse, I do not stand for, support or condone such stance. These are struggles I’ve spoken about extensively in my early career to encourage other women in similar situations.

I not only welcomed Reokeditwse Makete into my home but I treated her as a daughter and worked with her in support of her career in the entertainment industry, and right now I would like to reassure her that she still has my love and full support.

As a mother I wish she had come to me to inform me on what was going on because finding out on social media broke my heart. I’ve always been there, I’ve always been supportive.

I now realise I should have take preventative measures much earlier such as counselling and/or child therapy, but sometimes the mistake we tend to make as African single mothers is to assume and hope that things will work out for the best meanwhile certain past behaviours can affect generations to come.

With that said Donell will face his demons and take accountability for his actions and let the law take its course. I refuse to raise a man like his father. Rehab, therapy and internal healing will prevail.

Thank you South Africa.

Fans have applauded both Kedi & Sonia for breaking their silence but mostly Sonia for being one of the only South African women to refuse to protect or defend her abusive son. This woman is a Queen who tried her best to raise a king. We hope this will set an example to all mothers with abusive sons. We are still unsure if Kedi will be pressing charges and if Donelle will be seeing a prison cell. In a country with such high numbers of domestic violence and femicide, it’s hard to understand how someone so famous could think that they can get away with such.

What are your thoughts on Sonia’s reaction and how do you feel about Kedi taking to social media to expose her abusive lover? Tell us what you think.
