Fans of the American hit reality show Love & Hip Hop have been asking for the South Africa version of the show for the longest time. It seems their cries have finally been heard and the franchise is now coming to South Africa. South Africa will be the first county to have the franchise outside of the United States. 

The cast members of Love & Hip Hop South Africa will include the likes of Gigi Lamayne, Da Les, Younga Chief, Shane Eagle, DJ Speedsta, Fifi Cooper, Money Badoo and Jay Molley. The show will air on MTV from the 27th of February 2023.

Gigi Lamayne did speak the papers and was quoted saying “The first season is jam packed. I am bringing my A-Game in terms of personality, setting records straight and settling scores. I think people will get to know Gigi beyond the music and I love the fact that the cast understands that’s this is a first for South Africa. Years from now we will look back at this and see what hip hop was in South Africa. We will use this show as a reference. I am such a fan of Love and Hip Hop. Being on the show now feels like a manifestation because it’s something I’ve always wanted.” Gigi has also promised that the show will bring drama and have lots of South Africa culture and authenticity.
