DJ Sumbody Shot Over 21 Times In Tragic Execution

Amapiano Pioneer, Music Producer & Ayepyep Club owner Oupa John Sefoka, known as Dj Sumbody & his bodyguard Sbu have sadly passed away. 

The hit maker who made the hit song Monate Mpolaye with Cassper Nyovest & Thebe was killed in the early hours of Sunday morning. Unconfirmed reports state he was gunned down outside News Cafe in Woodmead in Sandton.  Reports have also stated that he was was due to perform at a All White Picnic on Sunday. Fans strongly believe that this was not a robbery but a hit on the Dj’s life, because the shooters did not even attempt to take his vehicle but fired 42 shots to make sure he didn’t survive the shooting. 

His management team has released the following statement.

“Artist and Musician DJ Sumbody has died. Details of his untimely death cannot be released but the artist named Oupa John Sefoka allegedly ran into an unfortunate incident that led to his passing on the early hours of Sunday morning, 20 November 2022. Details surrounding his passing cannot be disclosed as investigations are still ongoing. The Sefoka family and Sumsounds Music Management have kindly requested privacy during this difficult time and will release a statement in due course. Details of the funeral and memorial service will be confirmed.”

Tributes have been pouring in since the news broke, from fans and industry colleagues who are still shocked and in total disbelief of his passing.
