Rest Peace to musician & former Big Nuz member known as Mampintsha, whose real name Mandla Maphumulo. His record label Afrotainment released a statement after he was rushed to hospital after suffering a stroke last week. The statement reads as follows…

“It is with great sadness that we share the news of the untimely passing of multi-award winning artist, Mampinstsha. Born Mandla Maphumulo from Umlazi, KZN of Big Naz fame  passed away on 24 December 2022.”

The statement concluded that funeral and memorial details would be confirmed. They have also asked for their privacy & respect during this difficult time. 

After the passing of Mampitsha it has been alleged that his mother Zamanguni Gumede had been denied access to his body. It has been alleged that she went to see her late son’s body at Westville so that she can say her final goodbyes but she was not allowed to.

A unamed publication also reports that Mampintsha’s sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane is the one with the paper that declares those who can and cannot see his body, they were they were quoted saying “whoever wants to see the body has to ask her”.

Mampintsha’s sister Pinky has also reportedly said that they (Maphumulo family) have found out that they have will not been included in the funeral arrangements.

Now it is no secret that Babes and her late husbands mother did not get along. I mean we’ve all seen the trending videos of them throwing jabs at each other on videos but at a time like this, we would hope that both families would put their differences side and lay their loved one to rest on peace. We hope that both families will be able to say their final goodbyes.
